Like many couples over the last two years, Matt + Nicole had plans for a big wedding at a venue on Oak Street in New Orleans. They ultimately decided to have a small wedding celebrating with just family. Nicole got ready at her mom’s home with her sister before heading over to Audubon Park where their ceremony was held. Their ceremony was under the Oak Trees near Newman Bandstand. For a January wedding they had beautiful weather! They cut cake and had champagne with their family before catching a ride on the cutest pedicab from Need A Ride NOLA! Nicole + Matt ended their night at Oak Wine Bar on Oak Street. I loved that they did this as it was where their original reception was supposed to be. So lovely to still get to celebrate there, even if it was just the two of them. Maci and Brian met at a friends wedding a few years back in New Orleans. The very next day they had their first date at Bayou Boogaloo and the rest is history! When we were talking about their engagement session, I knew we had to take some photos along Bayou St. John, and I’m so happy they agreed to do so! We met in City Park under some beautiful Oak trees before heading over to the bayou for sunset! It filled my heart to be able to photograph them where they had their first date. I loved that the backdrop to their photos was so meaningful to their story and also the sunset was *beautiful* that day!
